The staff at the shelter didn’t realize that Ares and Aphrodite had grown quite fond of each other and were inseparable. Unfortunately, they were being adopted by two different people. Someone had planned on adopting Aphrodite and as for Ares, Alana Hadley wanted to adopt the little ginger cat after she instantly fell in love with him.
“He looks exactly like my cat that passed away,” Alana said about Ares.
When Hadley took Ares home with her, the ginger cat was very unhappy and meowed all the time. She described him as very needy and said he had not stopped crying since he left the shelter.
“He was almost non-stop meowing until he went to sleep and then meowed again when he was awake (most likely calling out for his sister),” the woman posted. “We thought he missed her and was grieving being taken away from her.”
Alana and her family decided to try to help by providing him with a bunch of stuffed animals, but Ares kept on meowing.
That’s when Hadley returned to the shelter and heard that Aphrodite’s planned adoption did not go through.
She immediately rescued Ares and the two are now inseparable!
“They wouldn’t stop playing,” Alana recalls. “They are very attention-seeking cats and loving.”
“They both love to cuddle and purr like crazy when we are holding them. They sleep most of the day and they cuddle each other when they nap,” Alana said.
