Beef & Oat Cake Perfect for Birthday Parties

I baked this beef and oat cake for my dog Oliver’s birthday party with his dog friends. The oats made the cake hearty, and he ate the first piece before the other dogs arrived.

Simple and Nutritious Dog Cake Recipe

A festive dog cake made of beef and oats, decorated with peanut butter and dog treats.

This Beef & Oat Cake combines ground beef, oats, and other dog-friendly ingredients to create a moist and flavorful cake. The recipe takes about 1 hour to prepare and bake, and serves multiple servings based on your dog’s size.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup beef broth (low sodium)
  • 1/2 cup grated carrots (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional, adjust based on your dog’s diet)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, rolled oats, applesauce, eggs, and beef broth. Mix until well combined. If using, add grated carrots and honey.
  3. Transfer to Pan: Pour the mixture into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  4. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the cake is cooked through and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. Cool and Serve: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before serving. You can decorate it with dog-friendly toppings like peanut butter or yogurt for added fun!
