I made this pumpkin cheesecake for my dog Milo’s birthday last fall. The pumpkin made the filling smooth, and he licked the springform pan clean before I could wash it.
Homemade Pumpkin Cheesecake for Dogs
This dog-friendly cheesecake features a blend of pumpkin puree, yogurt, and a touch of honey for sweetness. It is baked to perfection and can serve as a special treat for your beloved pet, making them feel celebrated and loved.
Ingredients
- 1 cup canned pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
- 2 cups plain Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup honey (optional, adjust based on dog’s taste and dietary needs)
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour or oat flour
- 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a springform pan or a round cake pan with a bit of coconut oil.
- Mix the Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, Greek yogurt, egg, honey, and cinnamon. Stir until well combined.
- Add Dry Ingredients: Gradually mix in the flour until the batter is smooth. Finally, fold in the melted coconut oil until evenly distributed.
- Pour and Bake: Pour the mixture into the prepared pan, smoothing the top with a spatula. Bake in the oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool: Allow the cheesecake to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Serve: Once cooled, slice the cheesecake into dog-friendly pieces and serve to your pup as a special treat. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator.

I keep the cheesecake covered in the fridge for up to three days. Milo gets a small slice as a treat, and the cheesecake usually lasts us four days.
