Ingredients
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup natural peanut butter (unsweetened)
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1 ripe banana, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/2 cup blueberries or chopped strawberries
- 1/4 cup water (if needed)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Optional: Carob chips for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, mix the whole wheat flour and baking powder until combined.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, combine the peanut butter, honey, mashed banana, and applesauce. Mix until smooth.
- Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. If the batter is too thick, add a little water until it reaches a cake batter consistency.
- Add Berries: Gently fold in the blueberries or chopped strawberries into the batter.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool: Allow the cake to cool completely before serving.
