Beef & Carrot Celebration Cake Made From Scratch

I made this beef and carrot celebration cake for my dog Milo’s second birthday. The beef browned while baking, and he waited by the counter until I gave him the first piece.

This delightful cake is made with high-quality ground beef, grated carrots, and whole wheat flour, providing your dog with a tasty and healthy option. The recipe takes about 45 minutes from start to finish and yields one celebration cake that can serve several canine companions.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup grated carrots
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt for frosting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, grated carrots, whole wheat flour, water, eggs, baking powder, and oil until well mixed.
  3. Bake the Cake: Pour the mixture into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the center is cooked through and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  4. Cool the Cake: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  5. Frosting (Optional): Once cooled, you can frost the cake with plain yogurt for an extra treat. Spread evenly or pipe onto the top for decoration.
  6. Serve: Slice the cake into appropriate portions and serve to your furry friends during their celebration.
