I baked this country chicken cake for my dog Oliver’s birthday last weekend. The chicken and vegetables made the cake hearty, and he ate the first piece without hesitation.
Delicious Country Chicken Cake for Your Dog
This Country Chicken Cake is a healthy and tasty alternative to store-bought dog treats. It’s made with fresh chicken, complemented by carrots and peas, and is baked to perfection. The recipe takes about an hour to prepare and serves as a festive treat for your pet.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 1/2 cup carrot, grated
- 1/2 cup peas, cooked and mashed
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup chicken broth (low sodium)
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, grated carrot, mashed peas, eggs, and chicken broth. Mix well until fully combined.
- Add Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour and baking powder. Gradually add this to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Stir in the olive oil.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. Once cooled, serve it to your dog as a delicious treat!
