Grain-Free Venison & Pumpkin Cat Formula

I tried this venison and pumpkin grain-free formula when my cat, Milo, developed a sensitivity to chicken. The venison smells gamey while cooking, and he eats it with a focus he rarely shows for other proteins.

This specific cat food recipe is designed to offer your feline companion high-quality ingredients, ensuring they receive the nutrition they need without the use of grains. The combination of venison and pumpkin creates a tasty meal that your cat will love.

This Venison & Pumpkin Grain-Free Formula for Cats is not only simple to make but also packed with flavor and health benefits. It takes about 30 minutes to prepare and provides a wholesome meal for your cat.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups ground venison
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup carrot, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup peas, cooked and mashed
  • 1/4 cup fish oil (for healthy omega fatty acids)
  • 1/4 teaspoon taurine supplement (essential for cats)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Venison: In a skillet, cook the ground venison over medium heat until fully browned, about 10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Mix in Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked venison with pumpkin puree, finely chopped carrot, and mashed peas. Stir until well combined.
  3. Add Oils and Supplements: Incorporate the fish oil and taurine supplement into the mixture, stirring well to distribute evenly.
  4. Season: Add a little salt and pepper to taste if desired, though it’s important to keep seasoning minimal for your cat’s health.
  5. Cool and Serve: Allow the mixture to cool before serving it to your cat. You can store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
