Easy Oat & Berry Cake for Dogs
This Oat & Berry Cake for Dogs features a moist and flavorful base made from oats, yogurt, and fresh berries. With simple preparation and baking time, it serves as a wholesome snack or special treat for your canine companion.
Ingredients
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 1/2 cup fresh or frozen mixed berries (blueberries, strawberries, etc.)
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the applesauce, yogurt, eggs, and honey (if using). Mix until well combined.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, mix the rolled oats, whole wheat flour, and baking powder.
- Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until everything is just combined. Gently fold in the mixed berries.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, slice and serve to your dog as a special treat.
