Homemade Spring Berry Dog Cake for Dogs
This Spring Berry Dog Cake is a delightful option for your pet’s birthday or any day you want to treat them to something special. It takes just about 30 minutes to prepare and serves multiple dogs or can be sliced for several treats throughout the week.
Ingredients
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 ripe banana, mashed
- 1/2 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1/4 cup unsweetened apple sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
- 1/4 cup low-fat plain yogurt (for frosting, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and rolled oats.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, mix the mashed banana, blueberries, apple sauce, water, egg, and honey until well combined.
- Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool and Frost: Allow the cake to cool completely before adding yogurt on top as a frosting if desired.
