The squirrel at the planter sniffed the flower like it was deciding the color. The squirrel smelling flower is the small moment that shows the species lives by nose first, and the bloom is just the clue.
With autumn fast approaching, wildlife fans have only a few weeks left to make the most of summer’s bright bloom.
And animals are no exception, as this inquisitive squirrel was spotted taking time out to smell a golden yellow daisy in a field near Vienna, Austria.
Wildlife photographer Dick van Duijn, 34, managed to capture the exact moment the squirrel even gave the flower gentle hug.
Seconds later the squirrel decided to lean in for a bite.
