This Peanut Butter Carrot Cake is made with fresh carrots and creamy peanut butter, baked into a moist cake that’s safe for dogs. The recipe takes about 1 hour to prepare and bake, yielding a delightful cake that serves multiple pups!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (natural, no xylitol)
  • 1 cup grated carrots
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, rolled oats, and baking powder.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, mix the applesauce, peanut butter, grated carrots, water, egg, and honey until well blended.
  4. Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
