Easy and Nutritious Turkey Cake for Dogs
This turkey cake features ground turkey, vegetables, and whole grains, baked into a moist cake perfect for celebrating your dog’s special day. With simple preparation and wholesome ingredients, it takes about an hour to make and serves approximately 8 paw-some portions.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 cup carrots, grated
- 1 cup peas (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup chicken broth or water
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Optional: dog-friendly frosting made from yogurt or peanut butter for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, grated carrots, peas, flour, oats, eggs, chicken broth, baking powder, and olive oil. Mix until well combined.
- Bake the Cake: Pour the mixture into the prepared cake pan and spread evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the cake is cooked through and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool and Decorate: Allow the cake to cool completely before removing it from the pan. If desired, top with dog-friendly frosting made from yogurt or peanut butter.
- Serve: Cut the cake into slices or squares and serve it as a special treat for your dog. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
