Banana Apple Celebration Cake Bursting With Natural Sweetness

I baked this banana apple celebration cake for my dog Luna’s birthday last weekend. The bananas and apples made the cake sweet, and she ate the first piece without hesitation.

Delicious & Nutritious Dog Cake Recipe

A celebration cake for dogs made with bananas and apples, decorated for a festive occasion.

This banana apple celebration cake features a moist and fluffy texture, made with ripe bananas and fresh apple chunks. The cake takes approximately 40 minutes to prepare and bake, and is perfect for celebrating your dog’s birthday or any special occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup shredded apple (peeled and cored)
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (unsweetened, xylitol-free)
  • 1/4 cup honey (optional, adjust based on preference)
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup applesauce (unsweetened)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup water (if needed for mixing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, shredded apple, peanut butter, honey, applesauce, and egg until well blended.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour and baking powder.
  4. Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. If the batter is too thick, add water a little at a time to reach the desired consistency.
  5. Bake the Cake: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool and Serve: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. Once completely cooled, you can frost it with additional peanut butter or serve as is.
