This Quail Celebration Cake features tender, flavorful quail meat mixed with wholesome fruits and vegetables, baked to perfection. The cake takes about 60 minutes to prepare and serves multiple happy dogs at your celebration.
Ingredients
- 1 cup cooked quail meat, finely shredded
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup shredded carrots
- 1/2 cup mashed pumpkin (unsweetened)
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/4 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter (dog-safe)
Instructions
- Prep the Ingredients: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a cake pan and set aside.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine whole wheat flour and baking powder. Set aside.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, mix the eggs, mashed pumpkin, applesauce, chicken broth, and honey until well combined.
- Combine Mixtures: Add the shredded quail meat, carrots, and wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir until a thick batter forms.
- Transfer to Pan: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Bake: Bake for about 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
